# play2match

> play2match is an Italian beach-volley social-sports community (Bologna, Torino, Milano). You don't book a court: you join a single match, an algorithm builds balanced teams by level, a Lead Matcher welcomes you on court, and everyone stays together for the after-match dinner. 14.000+ people have played, 1.500+ matches organised across 20+ partner centers. - [Come funziona il livello](https://play2match.it/guide/livelli): the level is a self-assessment of four questions (serve, defence, attack, lifestyle) mapped onto eight named bands, re-measurable every four played matches. No match result is recorded anywhere, so the level never moves with wins or losses. Only two things change it: the player re-measuring, or a person on the team. A Lead Matcher can flag that a level looks wrong; a human reviews the flag.
- [Come componiamo le squadre](https://play2match.it/guide/algoritmo): teams are built on three inputs only — level (primary), gender (at least one woman per team where the numbers allow, not a ratio) and age (a soft preference that always loses to level). The algorithm composes and publishes the teams automatically one hour before kick-off, which is also when bookings close on that match; a person can adjust a board before that.
